Alyssa’s first visit to Walt Disney World was with her parents the year Disney’s Hollywood Studios (then Disney MGM Studios–1989) opened, and she was also at Disney’s Animal Kingdom when it opened in 1998. In addition, Walt Disney World and McDonald’s, in association with UNESCO, named Alyssa a Millennium Dreamers Ambassador in 2000. (There were over 100,000 entries from the United States alone.) Alyssa was among 2,000 young people from over 100 countries around the world who were selected to travel to the WDW Resort in May 2000 to participate in a Symposium at Disney Institute, and listen to an inspiring speech given by Christopher Reeve. Today Alyssa, a professional travel photographer, lives just an hour and forty minutes’ drive from Walt Disney World, and has a Florida Resident Epcot after 4 p.m. Annual Pass, which she utilizes as often as she can. She and her mom stay at a Disney resort for a week together at least once a year and meet up at Disney World whenever they can possibly swing it. Alyssa has stayed at Disney’s Beach Club Villas, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s All-Star Music Resort, and the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel, plus a number of other properties in Downtown Disney and Orlando, as well as the Disneyland Hotel.
